Liam Neeson's Spokesperson Says the Actor is "As Healthy As Ever”

Fans of Liam Neeson have expressed their concern over his weak appearance after he was spotted strolling around New York this week. The star of the action thriller "Taken" came out almost incognito wearing a green baseball cap and a navy hoodie under the sun.

A representative, however, assured that the actor is in his tip-top shape. Neeson had just turned 63 years old last June. The representative added that Neeson's weight loss was due to a change in diet, and as the actor had been doing additional exercises for almost a year now.

The rep also told Mail Online that Neeson "has never been healthier." The spark of attention over his condition could also have been brought by "an unflattering pic" as one of the star's "particular skills...is not always taking a great photo," the rep added. The statements were given amidst reports from Radar that the Irish celebrity has cleared his schedule. "He has just completed work on one film and (will start) another in September," reasoned the rep.

Last month, prior to the occasion, Neeson commented to Sebastian Shakespeare of the Daily Mail that his birthday was a touchy subject. The actor admitted that he avoids and gets embarrassed with celebrations. In fact, he wants it ignored. He also thinks nobody wants to reach his age as he is getting old already. Lately, he has revealed that he intends to stop doing action films in the next two years.

Neeson is a seasoned actor who has received several nominations, among them three Golden Globes, as well as BAFTA and Oscar Awards for his outstanding performances in films like "Schindler's List", "Excalibur", "Clash of the Titans", "Les Misérables", "Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace", "Kinsey" and many more. He was also the voice behind the character Aslan of the film series "The Chronicles of Narnia."
