The 10 tips are based on PureWow's Home Design Trends 2015 article:

1.       Sectionals

Sofas can take the shape of the corner of the house, it maybe formed as U or L. It may have been so popular before but now it's back and is more popular in wider, bigger versions. Stay away from too formal set-ups with the sectionals, what's "in" right now is using it and converting the living room to a cozier area for chilling out and relaxing.

2.       Oversized Art

This is a minimalist trend and what you need to do is choose one large beloved painting, artwork, or any art piece and place it above your bed, sofa, or console table. Great graphic prints and even two-toned paintings are the best for this one.

3.       Bold Blue

See your rooms in different light by painting it in a great blue color of your choice but it might be great also to use "Rushing Rapids." The best tip here is pairing this color to light tints or neutral colored accessories or furniture to make the room's ambiance pop out and will look bright and balanced.

4.       Open Shelving

Open-shelving is like the "grab and go" shelving. It makes a very convenient spot for a homemaker and we might see it as very simple but it actually makes our pantry or kitchen area chic. So if you're planning to make a spot like this in your kitchen, highlight the ones that you are eager to display and organize.

5.       Free-standing Tubs

Whether you prefer a vintage feel or a modernized one, it doesn't matter, free-standing tubs just make every bathroom sleek and attractive.

6.      Smart Homes

Whether it'll be a Hue Tap, Wi fi Thermostat, Canary Alarm system, or Smart Doorlock, smart home gadgets are also good home design trends for 2015. Like our phones, our homes too have incredible gadget updates that you can add as decors.

7.       70s Décor

Whether it'll be the wacky patterns from a 70s design or the varied tone colors from orange to avocado and yellow, 70s home design is back! Now it is more modernized and uses subtler colors and geometrically patterned styles.

8.       The All-white Approach

The idea with all white is the crisp clean and simple look that is far different from the previous fads of dark colors. Now whites can go with whites like rustic white cabinets and throw pillows in sheepskin color.

9.       Blond Wood Furniture

Blond wood furniture is very appealing this 2015. The pale color actually goes very well with anything including pastels and with other dark/ black furniture.

10.   The Tandem Sink

The Tandem sink is very popular now, and almost all kitchens are built with this. This entails a two-bowl sink where one bowl is usually larger.
