Leaked Microsoft Wifi App: Keeps You Connected Anywhere In The World

When the Microsoft WiFi App website accidentally went live, @h0x0d, the same sharp-eyed Twitter user who recently discovered Microsoft Earn, was quick to disseminate the information via his social media account, NBC News reports.

The said application would provide users "hassle-free Internet access around the world" so users can be "productive on the go", according to venturebeat.com's report. The online publication was able to grab an image of the website with a quote, "Don't waste time filling forms with personal information or managing different carriers to get connected. Sign in once and you are done: you will automatically be connected to a vast range of WiFi providers around the world."

What do you need to know about Microsoft WiFi App? Here's what Thurrott have to say:

Individual and business versions available. Microsoft WiFi targets individuals while Microsoft WiFi for Business is aimed at businesses.

It's a pay-as-you-go service. Like the Data Sense feature of Windows Phone, Microsoft WiFi app allows you to automatically connect to public Wi-Fi hotspots. Similar to Skype WiFi, you will need to use a revolving credit line that you can top off making it a pay-as-you-go service and not a subscription.

The all-important coverage. From 2 million hotspots worldwide with Skype WiFi, Microsoft WiFi hands down beats this number with a promise of 10 million hotspots across 130 countries, according to venturebeat.com. This way, users can expect better connectivity in common locations like airports and hotels.

Find WiFi via the interactive map. When the app finally becomes available, users will find it easier to detect compatible WiFi Hotspots using said interactive map.

Convenient top-off card system. Microsoft WiFi cards for personal use or to buy access for friends and family will be made available with an easy top-off process that requires users to just enter an alphanumeric code to add amount to the users account.

Cross-platform. Download links for Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, and Windows Phone will be available.

Office 365 Enterprise perk. Subscribers of Office 365 Enterprise will be able to enjoy Microsoft WiFi for Business. Businesses are probably looking to provide their employees with connection on-the-go using a managed interface to customize its function.

These so far are what's known of Microsoft WiFi app and should there be any new information, nothing a sharp-eyed online rat wouldn't know of.
