'Jurassic World' Dinosaurs, Plot & Release Date: Original T-Rex To Return As Hero In The Upcoming Film?

Ever since it was announced that the dinosaurs of "Jurassic Park" are returning for another run with "Jurassic World," many followers of the franchise are eager to see how the studio would turn the story around. Now, it seems that not only will the upcoming film feature a new hybrid dinosaur, it will also see the return of an old favorite that could guarantee exciting times for the film viewers.

While most of the dinosaurs in the upcoming film have been revealed in the trailers, another one is coming back that would prove to be very pivotal in how the story would go. According to Polygon, the old Tyranosaurus Rex or T-Rex from the original film would return in "Jurassic World."

Slashfilm interviewed director Colin Trevorrow who revealed that the fan favorite would once again hit the big screen.

"The T-rex that's in the film is the T-Rex from the original 'Jurassic Park.' She is 22 years older. But she's not limping around," said the director.

The T-Rex was seen in the first film of the franchise where it ended up as a hero when it ate the raptors that went after Alan and Ellie, ultimately saving them from death, said Screen Rant.

It's not clear what role the T-Rex would play, how big it would be, and which side it would be on. It might even once again prove to be a hero when it comes out. However, Trevorrow gave a hint on what could be expected from the deadly carnivore.

He added, "We took the original design and obviously, technology has changed. So, it's going to move a little bit differently, but it'll move differently because it's older. And we're giving her some scars and we're tightening her skin. So, she has that feeling of, like, an older Burt Lancaster. And this movie is her 'Unforgiven.'"

It could only mean that the T-Rex is back to exact vengeance from someone or something. Whether it could be a potential battle with the new Indominus Rex remains to be seen in the upcoming movie.

The return of the T-rex would sure put the whole story in a different light.

Aside from the T-rex, there are other dinosaurs that have not been shown in the trailer such as the Anklyosaurus, Pteranodons, the underwater dinosaur, and a flying one.

"Jurassic World" would hit theaters on June 12, 2015.
