‘Expendables 4’ Release Date & Cast: Manny Pacquiao ‘Interested’ But Busy; Floyd Mayweather Jr. Also Eyed for Role?

Rumor has it that “Expendables 4” will be featuring Manny Pacquiao. According to multiple sources, Sylvester Stallone had already approached Pacquiao about the movie deal last year.

Stallone, together with fellow “Expendables” alum Arnold Schwarzenegger, had reportedly met with the Filipino boxing champion in his locker room before his November bout with Chris Algieri in Macau. Plus, the rumor mill went into hyper-drive when Stallone, once again, paid Pacquiao a visit at the Wild Card Gym on Sunday.

His business manager, Eric Pineda, has finally spoken up about these rumors. According to him, the boxing icon was “interested.”

“The project had been offered before,” he revealed to Inquirer. “And, Manny is interested.”

Ang Malaya reported that Pacquiao had also previously said they “have not agreed on anything yet.” However, he did admit that he wanted to talk about it after his May 2 bout with Floyd “The Money” Mayweather Jr.

Fans are hopeful that negotiations regarding the movie will come to fruition, particularly since Pacquiao will be very “busy with his campaign for the May 2016 elections.” It would appear that the People’s Champ is “planning to run for senator.”

“Now, he is busy with training,” Pineda said. “Due to his very busy schedule, there are no concrete plans for the Hollywood movie. We are not sure whether it would push through or not.”

Surprisingly, rumor has it that his boxing rival, Mayweather, is also being eyed for a role. However, it remains unclear whether or not Stallone or Lionsgate has already approached him for a deal. Stallone is reportedly talking about it, as pointed out by TMZ.

Although there is no official confirmation yet regarding “Expendables 4,” almost all of the stars of the action-packed franchise already expressed excitement over reprising their roles.

“Working with Sylvester Stallone is beyond a ‘pinch yourself’ moment,” Jason Statham told IGN. “I remember growing up watching his films. And to be directed by him and to be in a movie that he has produced – and to be shoulder-to-shoulder with Sly – is a privilege any man who loves action movies would never turn their nose up at.”

“I mean, it is terrific,” he added. “I will do as many as he wants.”

Sadly, Franchise Herald is convinced that the fourth installment of the “Expendables” franchise might be hanging in the balance. According to the report, Stallone presently does not have his heart into making yet another “Expendables” movie – even if all of his co-stars do. As indicated in the article, Stallone is reportedly having a bit of a difficult time writing the next film’s storyline.
