Frank Sinatra Net Worth: 'My Way' Singer's Former Home Sells for Under $5M

Frank Sinatra had a net worth of $100M which he amassed from his contract with Capitol Records, as reported by Celebrity Net Worth. With this massive net worth, he was able to purchase several properties.

The multi-awarded singer, known especially for the iconic song, "My Way," has a former home that was sold for under $5M or exactly $4.93M, reports The Wall Street Journal. The three-level Manhattan penthouse that once belonged to the crooner reportedly covers 3, 200 sq.ft.

The agents who handled the listing were Suzanne Miller, Senada Fici and Max Davis of Empire State Properties, while Maureen McCafferty of the Corcoran Group, represented the buyer, architect Marvin Mitchell, said Miller, as noted by WSJ.

WSJ says that Sinatra resided in the New York penthouse for 10 years, whenever he needed to be in the area. He purchased it in the early 1960s, as informed by James Kaplan, an author of a soon to be released Frank Sinatra biography, "Sinatra: The Chairman."

In 2013, Baller Status reported that the penthouse was initially listed at $7.7M and was reduced to $5.59M that year. Basing from its Douglas Elliman Real Estate listing that time, the multi-level unit includes four bedrooms, 4.5 baths, a spacious dining area, a modern kitchen with six-burner stove and wood-burning fireplace. The penthouse boasts 18-foot ceilings adorned with grand chandeliers, home audio systems, motorized window shades and temperature and lighting control systems.

The Baller Status notes that the property was graced by President John F. Kennedy, Marilyn Monroe and Andy Warhol.

See photos and video of the house here in 2014 as published on Daily Mail, which announced its further price cut to $4.9M.

The famous unit was dubbed by the avante garde artist, Andy Warhol, as the "glittering grotto in the sky," notes Daily Mail. The charm of the luxury penthouse is the two wraparound terraces totaling 2,000 sq ft.

Daily Mail also mentioned other stars who made Frank Sinatra's guestlist: Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr, Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop -- with Davis allegedly "enjoy throwing champagne glasses from the terrace onto the street."

Sinatra reportedly sold the property in 1972 to his personal physician and celebrity doctor Denton Cox, Daily Mail reported. In 2008, Penny Hart bought it for $4.5M and listed it again in 2012 for $7.7M, informed the news site.
