'Destiny' PS4, Xbox One Update & Release Date: 'House of Wolves' DLC To Introduce 'Prison of Elders' Battle Arena!

Ever since "Destiny" released its first DLC pack in December 2014, fans of the first person-shooting game have been looking forward to see what's next. Word is out that the second update dubbed, "House of Wolves," for the game is arriving soon and would bring a new cooperative battle arena in its wake.

According to Game Rant, the developers behind the game recently revealed that the upcoming DLC would feature a new game mode. The cooperative end-game battle mode, dubbed "Prison of Elders," would allow up to three players to team up and battle it out.

It remains unclear how the "Prison of Elders" would pan out in the game. However, developer Bungie hinted that the cooperative battle arena would take advantage of the player's moves in terms of "variety, replayability, and skill."

Some fans speculated that the new game mode would feature a "round-based progression system similar to 'battle arenas'" being utilized in other shooting games. Bungie has not confirmed if this rumor is correct.

Nonetheless, fans need not worry too much about the new game mode as they would soon see how the new feature is played. Bungie is coming up with a live gameplay demo of the new "Prison of Elders" mode on May 6, reported IGN.

Another news that accompanied the arrival of the cooperative mode is the omission of the popular "Raid" in the upcoming DLC. While avid followers of the game were disappointed and saddened by this, the developers were quick to clarify in a statement released on their blog that the team is preparing a new Raid for a later release.

No date has been mentioned for the arrival of this expansion pack.

Bungie also outlined the events that would happen in preparation for the launch of "House of Wolves" DLC. A tour of "The Reef" along with a live discussion for gear updates is scheduled on April 22, while a live gameplay of "Trials of Osiris" would come out on April 29.

The gameplay of the "Prison of Elders" three-player cooperative mode would be unveiled on May 6.

Aside from the arrival of the expansion pack, Bungie is coming out with the Destiny Update 1.1.2. on April 15. The patch is set to fix bugs that affected Raid leaders Crota and Atheon and the competitive mode. The update would also bring an exclusive Colorblind mode to the video game.

"House of Wolves" DLC for "Destiny" is set to arrive to game consoles on May 19, 2015.
