'GTA 6' Vice City News & Trailer: Release Date Leaked? Rockstar Developing Game for 2016 Release Says New Report [Rumors]

With fans exploring all that "GTA V" has to offer, rumors regarding the next installment continues to circulate. As Rockstar continues to focus on GTA 5 Online, according to a new report, the upcoming title of the popular video game series is said to be in the works.

In a new report by Master Herald, sources have reported that the game will be hitting the shelves next year.

"GTA 6 is in the works and according to sources, will be expected for consoles in the next year or so."

GTA 6 Confirmed

During an earlier interview of Develop (via IGN) with Rockstar Games president Leslie Benzies, following the release of GTA V, focus has been on GTA Online.

"We've got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do," said Benzies. "We don't know what GTA 6 will be, but we've got some ideas."
Based on how the company has worked on releases, following a title launch, they begin conceiving what will come next. "It comes from the idea first. Where is it going to be set is the first question. Then that defines the missions; you're doing different things in LA than in New York or Miami. The map and story get worked up together, and the story is a basic flow of how it works out so you can layer the missions in."

GTA 6 Setting

While details regarding the upcoming title have yet to be revealed, with regards to location and setting of the upcoming game, there are plenty of rumors circulating.

Latino Post reported earlier that "GTA 6" will take place in Vice City, a return for the franchise which has already featured the setting in the past. Other rumored sites include New York, Miami, Las Vegas as well as European sites like Paris or London.

GTA 6 Characters

One of the other rumor about GTA 6 is whether a female character could be included in the game. Christian Post shared that per co-founder Dan Houser, he said it's possible.

"In the future, could we do a game with a lead female character? Of course. We just haven't found the right game for it yet, but it's one of the things we always think about."

"Grand Theft Auto V," an open world, action-adventure video game was released on Sept. 2013 and is currently compatible to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows.

"GTA 6" is rumored to come with a three-character gameplay story, similar to what is being employed by "Grand Theft Auto V."
