'Fifty Shades of Grey 2' Trailer & News: Jamie Dornan Getting $12 Million For Sequel? -- Details Here

"Fifty Shades of Grey" released over Valentine's was a massive success. Considering how big the film was at the box office, fans are eagerly awaiting the sequel to the erotic romance.

"Fifty Shades Darker" is the second book of the best-selling trilogy by British author E.L. James with the third titled, "Fifty Shades Freed." With Jamie Dornan (Christian Grey) on-board for the second installment, news has hit the internet as to how much the Northern Ireland actor stands to make.

It was reported by The Daily Star on Monday that Dornan, 32, is set to earn $12 million for the sequel to the original film.

"Jamie has signed the deal and he's thrilled, the money on offer was just too good," said the source of the publication. "He's been really worried that he will get typecast as Christian Grey and it will do his long-term career ambitions damage. So he was about to walk away and leave it all behind then bosses of the movie franchise came back with the jaw-dropping offer."

The actor was said to have been paid what looks to be a measly $100,000 for the first film considering he's reported to have come into a massive pay increase pegged at about $6.92 million for the next two films.

Earlier it was rumored that Dornan's wife, Amelia Warner, was upset over the film and it's erotic scnes but that rumor has since been busted. "Amelia has no issue with it at all, but Jamie is too embarrassed to let her see the racier scenes," quoted the Daily Star of a friend of Dornan.

"[My wife] hasn't seen the film and I don't think she will, to be honest," said Jamie to the London Evening Standard during the U.K. premiere of "Fifty Shades of Grey."

"I'd understand if she didn't want to," he added.

Box Office Hit

According to the reports of Box Office Mojo, the film adaptation of E.L. James' books has passed the $500 million mark. Domestic tickets account for $150 million of the reported total sales. Dornan starred in the film opposite Dakota Johnson who played the role of Ana Steele.

To date, no official release date for the sequel has been announced. Enstarz reports that per sources, production for "Fifty Shades Darker" maybe delayed due to on-going disagreements between the author and director Sam Taylor-Johnson.
