Inside Charlize Theron’s $3.8 Million Los Angeles Home, Now up for Sale

Charlize Theron, the veteran actress who won an Oscar for "Best Actress" for her portrayal of real-life serial killer Aileen Wuornos in Monster, is selling a spare Los Angeles home for $3.8 million.

Located in a pocket of Hollywood Hills, Theron first purchased her Spanish-style residence for exactly $3 million shortly after she won her Oscar in 2004. Built in the late 1960s, Theron updated the house in years and features three bedrooms and four baths in a two-level living space, per Robb Report.

Spanning 3,100 square feet, Theron's Hollywood Hills home boasts hardwood floors and wood-beam ceilings. The home also features sweeping views of surrounding valleys and mountains. Additionally, the home has a white stucco and terra-cotta-roof structure fronted by a motor court and a two-car garage.

Theron's Other Properties

Apart from her Hollywood Hills home, Theron also owns a three-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bathroom spanning 2,095 square feet in Sandy La Costa Beach in Malibu, Los Angeles, a location famous due to Hollywood celebrities' houses. The house, which Theron shared with then-boyfriend Stuart Townsend, was sold to Ryan Murphy, the brain behind Glee, for $6.562 million in June 2011.

Theron also owned a U-shaped 4,116-square-foot home in Los Angeles. The property was owned by Jennifer Aniston, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Keanu Reeves at some point before it came under Theron's ownership in 2009 for $3.625 million. That home was known particularly for its use of big-glass openings, reinforced concrete, and steel accents that give it a modernist building. That property was sold for $3.8 million in 2013, a year after it was put up for sale, per Just Jared, citing data from Zillow.

In 2005, Theron retained a 2,000-square-foot home in West Hollywood, which she sold in 2020 with a million-dollar profit. The bungalow features hedges and large trees, providing great privacy for its residents despite being located in a bustling neighborhood. The charming home was originally built in 1925 and underwent renovations, including an expanded eat-in kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances and a lap pool in the backyard.
