'Girls' Creator Lena Dunham Buys New LA Home for $2.7 Million

The "Girls" creator and star Lena Dunham has taken up a new residence in Los Angeles. The 28-year-old reportedly invested $2.7 million on the Greek-inspired residence.

The move can be considered quite a surprise especially after her comments to Vogue last year that indicated she wasn't very fond of the city. "I like Los Angeles, but more than two weeks and I start to get a very sad feeling," said the HBO writer and actress. "If I do start to feel at home here, someone should really worry about me."

TMZ reports that Dunham hasn't been a long-time LA resident. Usually Lena flies into LA once a year for prep-work and editing but the purchase indicates Dunham may be planning more visits or longer stays within the city.

With 2,500 square feet of living space, Dunham's new real estate purchase comes with three-bedrooms (including one in the guesthouse), three-bathrooms, an open kitchen/family room layout and a den. Additionally, the LA Times details that the home comes equipped with a pool, open lawn, pocket gardens and for maximum relaxation, a total of three porches.

The publication further noted that the property officially went on the market Jan. 16. The property's last sale was in 2003 for $835,000, per public records.

In an ad listing via Take Sunset (complete with photos), the property was listed to cost $2.699 million and described as: "Located on a flat, tree-lined street, just south of Sunset Boulevard in the bustling West Hollywood neighborhood, this historic 1920′s home has been restored and renovated. Behind, tall lush privacy hedges this Spaulding Square home sits on a large oversize corner lot which encompasses generous side gardens. Here the two bedroom main house is connected to the guest house by a manicured lawn and pool."

Some of it's min features include floor to ceiling windows that offer plenty of natural light, Swedish hardwood floors, French doors that enable easy movement within and outside the home as well as a gourmet kitchen.

Prior to Dunham, the property was once owned by George Peppard, the actor well-known for playing opposite Audrey Hepburn in "Breakfast at Tiffany's."

Per The Hollywood Reporter, other properties under the ownership of Dunham include a $500,000 one-bedroom apartment she purchased back in 2012 along with a recent investment with boyfriend Jack Antonoff, a four-bedroom condominium worth $4.8 million she moved into last December.
