'OITNB' Season 3 Spoilers & Cast: Premiere Date Confirmed, Top 5 Plot Leaks Here

The summer just got hotter as the third season of hit series, "Orange is the New Black" was announced by Netflix and the premiere date has been set for June 12.

The news landed on Twitter Monday when Uzo Aduba unexpectedly made the announcement in the simplest way possible.

"June 12th. #OITNB," wrote Aduba, who plays Suzanna "Crazy Eyes" Warren in the post.

Now that we're only three months way from the season premiere, beware because below are some spoilers on the American comdey series:

  1. Sophia's Storyline - Get ready for more Sophia action. According to an article from the LatinPost, actress Laverne Cox teased that the plans for her character Sophia are going to be "very, very exciting." Cox adds the direction of her character is going to be unexpected and she's not quite sure what viewers will think of the plot.
  2. Vee's Alive? - TMZ reported earlier that after getting run over in the second season, while Vee was seen "lying on the curb with her eyes open, seemingly dead, but the character might be alive." While the nature of her return could be via a flashback, it could also mean Lorraine Toussaint's character could be a returning cast member. We'll just have to wait and see.
  3. Piper and Alex - A source revealed that the character of Alex Vause (Laura Prepon) will be a series main-stay and because it's likely she'll be returning to jail after the events that led her to point a run at her probation officer, the relationship with Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling) will definitely be a major plot platform.
  4. Flashbacks - Aside from the flashback we could see for Vee's character, the source (Venture Capital Post) added that Big Boo (Lea DeLaria) as well as Alex will have their own flashback moments. While the nature of Alex' flashbacks weren't part of the details, Big Boo's may provide more background as to her history and character backstory.
  5. Taystee Finds Love - Danielle Brooks detailed (via Entertainment Weekly) that in the upcoming season she may find love. "It's very emotional. It catches [Taystee] off guard," said Brooks. "She definitely goes on another journey with growing pains. We'll find out if she falls in love or if she doesn't," added the series star.

Aside from the Emmy-winning Netflix original, "Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp" sequel drops July 17 with the original movie cast.
