'Thor 3' Release Date, Trailer & Cast: God Of Thunder to Die in 'Ragnarok' Movie Sequel? [Rumors]

Fans highly anticipating the third movie for the Norse God "Thor" might be in for a shock. Word is out that the third installment of the popular Marvel film would be the end for the film adaptation of the story as it might showcase the death of the Norse god.

While the plot for "Thor 3: Ragnarok" remains unclear, some reports claimed that certain events in the "Avengers 3: Age of Ultron" would set the tone for the upcoming movie.

According to Christian Today, there is a possibility that Thor would die in "Thor 3: Ragnarok." Following the movie's title, "Ragnarok" in Norse mythology spoke of a chain of "catastrophic events that lead to the world's ruin, killing numerous gods."

If one follows the original story from the comic book, Thor embarks on a journey to save the people of Asgard from ruin. However, this eventually leads to his death which would occur after he kills Loki for betraying their family.

The people behind the third movie has not made any confirmation if it would follow the complete steps of the movie down to a tee, as the screenplay for the third film is yet to be completed.

However, the actor who played Thor, Chris Hemsworth, swore to fans that "Thor 3: Ragnarok" would be huge, said Kpopstarz.

"There is no script for Thor, the next Thor, so I have no idea where we'll end up. But it's pretty big, this one," said Hemsworth.

Tom Hiddleston, who portrayed Loki, also promised great things for the upcoming movie.

"'Thor 3' is happening at some point and the last time we saw Loki he was on the throne, so there's some questions to be answered," he said.

A report in KDramastars hinted at the possibility of Thor travelling back in time. It described the potential storyline when the god of thunder inherited the power of Odin when he died. Thor reportedly became drunk with power and decided to rule even the Earth, which proved catastrophic.

After realizing his mistake, he decided to go back in time to undo his actions. In the process of accomplishing this task, Thor ends up killing himself.

Regardless if the third movie would follow this story or not, it seems that "Thor 3: Raganarok" has a lot of things in store for the fans.

"We plan on taking Thor to another level," said Marvel president Kevin Feige. "It picks up where we leave Thor in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' and impacts everything that comes after."

"Thor 3: Ragnarok" would hit theaters on Nov. 3, 2017 after its release has been delayed from July 28, 2017 following the appearance of Spider-Man in the Marvel cinematic universe.
