'Tha Carter V' Album Release Update: Lil Wayne, Mack Maine, DJ Drama Collaborating for 'Dedication 6' Mixtape?

It seems that Lil Wayne is keen on making up for the delayed release of his album "Tha Carter V" to his fans. Word is out that the rapper is already working on another mixtape to compensate for the album that's been put on hold for the moment.

The "Love Me" rapper has recently released a mixtape compilation, "Sorry 4 The Wait 2" on Jan. 21. The album was released as a way to tide his fans over, who had been waiting for a long time to get their hands on "Tha Carter V." It features 17 tracks, which Tunechi added his own flavor to, said Hot New Hip Hop.

But while it has been less than a month since the mixtape came out, rumors are circulating that Lil Wayne is again back on the studio to start recording on his follow up to the mixtape.

According to MTV, joining Lil Wayne on his next project is DJ Drama and Mack Maine.

DJ Drama posted a photo of him with Lil Wayne and Maine on his Instagram account. The photo was simply captioned, "Sorry for The Wait 2. Carter V. Dedication 6."

The addition of "Dedication 6" on the caption had fans speculating that the three are already working on the sixth mixtape from the "Dedication" series, which released its first in 2005.

The last time Lil Wayne and DJ Drama worked together on a mixtape was in 2013 with "Dedication 5," reported Design & Trend.

While no further details have been released regarding this possible collaboration for "Dedication 6," some fans believe its launch would be directly affected with the release of "Tha Carter V."

The longer it takes for Lil Wayne's finished album to get out, the sooner it would be for "Dedication 6" to happen.

The album was supposedly scheduled to come out in May 2014, but for reasons unknown was pushed to December, said The Rolling Stone. However, no launch was made in December for the said album.

Due to the delay, Lil Wayne has expressed his desire to leave the label, which has him as a talent for most of his career. The rapper also filed a lawsuit against Cash Money CEO, Bryan "Birdman" Williams for not paying him money that is due him.

In the lawsuit, Tunechi also sought for the severance of his contract with the label along with a joint copyright for some of his records and damages amounting to $51 million.

Cash Money has not made any comment regarding the lawsuit.
