Katy Perry & Taylor Swift Feud Over? 'Roar' Singer Calls 'Tay' a 'Sweetheart'

It seems that pop stars Katy Perry and Taylor Swift's rift is finally over. Instead of the expected insults, the "Firework" singer has recently described Swift as a "sweetheart" in an interview for a magazine.

According to Hollywood Life, Perry, who was rumored to have a feud with the "Shake It Off" singer, praised Swift while in an interview by ELLE magazine.

"You've got to name someone the villain, someone the princess, someone the mom, the dad-type - you know there always have to be characters. As pop figures, we're all characters. And the media uses that. Who is the sweetheart, who is the villain? You know. Taylor's the sweetheart. Kanye West's the villain. That's the narrative," shared the singer.

The interview is part of ELLE magazine's March 2015 issue, which would feature the former Mrs. Brand on the cover. Perry talked about her career, fellow musicians and her preparations for the Super Bowl halftime show in the said issue.

The rumored fight between Perry and Swift began to circulate in September 2014.

Hollywood Life, in a separate report, said that in a Rolling Stone interview with Swift, the "Blank Space" singer said one of her inspirations for the song, "Bad Blood" is a fellow singer who allegedly did something bad to her.

"She did something so horrible. I was like, 'Oh, we're just straight-up enemies.' And it wasn't even about a guy! It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour," the pop star revealed.

"She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And I'm surprisingly non-confrontational - you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It's awkward, and I don't like it," she added.

As soon as news of the interview came out, Perry posted a tweet saying, "Watch out for the Regina George in sheep's clothing...," which had fans speculating was a direct reply to Swift's interview.

While Swift made it clear in the interview that the reason for the "fued" was purely business, some were quick to point out that guy problems caused it. Both Perry and Swift went out with John Mayer in the past.

However, in another report, Hollywood Life noted that the real reason behind the fight is the back-up dancers, who were supposed to join Swift on tour.

TMZ reported that the three back-up dancers in question were originally part of Perry's tour. However, when the singer ended her tour, they needed work and joined Swift. When Perry had a new schedule, the dancers backed out and informed Swift that they would leave while giving 30 days notice. Swift wasn't thrilled and decided to fire them instead.
