Nike KD 7 'PBJ' Release Date, Price, Where to Buy?

Young fans of Kevin Durant's signature shoes, produced in collaboration with Nike, would have another thing to be excited about. The global sports brand has announced the arrival of the KD 7 "PB&J" colorway this February.

This is the second time Nike has released a "PB&J" colorway for the Kevin Durant signature shoes. However, older fans would be disappointed, as the new design would only be available in grade school sizes unlike last year, reported Sole Collector.

The "PB&J" colorway was first introduced on the Nike KD 6, which came out in 2013. According to the Nike website, the design was a tribute to Kevin Durant's favorite childhood snack while he was growing up in Seat Pleasant, Maryland.

It was also the first time Nike came up with a design based on food.

The Oklahoma City Thunder small forward recounted his days eating the peanut butter & jelly treat and said, "I'd spend hours with my Aunt Pearl as a kid just listening to her advice and eating her PB&J sandwiches." He described those times as "great memories" for him.

This year's colorway is once again a direct tribute to that iconic sandwich. But unlike last year's design, the new KD 7 "PB&J" colorway is definitely geared towards younger fans with its play on colors.

The KD 7 "PB&J" features a white base made with hyperfuse and hyperposite technology, noted Kicks on Fire. A light tan brown strap is found at the midfoot. The brown color of the strap is reminiscent of peanut butter, according to Freshness Mag.

Meanwhile, a purple gum jelly design is splayed on the white body of the shoe to give the idea of purple jelly spread on the bread. Purple and fuchsia specks pepper the shoe's midsole, which adds accents to the whole sneaker, described Sneaker News.

A purple inner lining also adds color to the shoe.

Two Nike swooshes could be found, with one on the exterior side of the shoe lined in fuchsia color and filled with purple reflective material. The second swoosh is found on the other side near the Achilles tendon. The swoosh comes in purple outline with yellow print design.

The KD 7 "PB&J" colorway is set to come out on February 4 to online retailers such as Oneness and eBay.

The grade school sized-shoe is listed officially as White/ Hyper Grape - Fuchsia Flash - Team Orange on Nike.com and would sell at $115 a pair.
