'Batman: Arkham Knight' Release Date, Gameplay & Trailer: 3 Things to Expect From Rocksteady

Back in September, Warner Bros. confirmed the release date of "Batman: Arkham Knight," IGN reported. The title is set to launch worldwide on June 2, 2015, while Australia and New Zealand can get it on June 3 and 4, respectively.

As told by the outlet, three versions of the game may be expected: the standard edition, the Limited Edition and the Batmobile Edition. The last two are expected to be available in North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand for the PS4 and Xbox One.

On June 2, the game will arrive for the PS4, Xbox One and PC, wrote GameSpot.

Since the release date has been announced, it's time to identify what gameplay features may be expected from the title. Check them out below.

1. Driveable & Uniquely-Designed Batmobile

Developed by Rocksteady and published by Warner Bros., "Batman: Arkham Knight" will bring Rocksteady's "uniquely designed version of the Batmobile," PlayStation noted. This will be the first time in the video game franchise, when the Caped Crusader's popular vehicular companion becomes actually driveable.

It's expected to be an exciting feature, as Mashable wrote that the game supposedly brings an open-world Gotham larger than that of "Batman: Arkham City."

2. Return of the Scarecrow

Super villains Penguin, Two-Face and Harley Quinn will see the return of the Scarecrow, said Microsoft. In fact, the character has already appeared in an earlier gameplay footage cited by Destructoid.

With the Scarecrow's return, we're excited to see how Batman faces his battles, specially when these forces of evil join their hands together.

3. The Arkham Knight is Not Batman

This could be surprising for some, but the Arkham Knight isn't Batman, the Venture Capital Post pointed. The Arkham Knight is said to be a new character, and according to the source, plays the role of an antagonist.

However, the outlet wrote that he is a crime-fighter, delivering justice in "lethal ways." While not much is known about his mysterious character, we'll have to wait for the title's release to find out.

VC Post also took note of the game's voice actors, which include Kevin Conroy as Batman, Troy Baker as the Arkham Knight, Tara Strong as Harley Quinn and Barbara Gordon, John Noble as the Scarecrow, Nolan North as Penguin and Marvin Javis as Alfred Pennyworth.
