Chris Brown Philippine Concert Canceled For A Girl?

It seems that Chris Brown is determined to prove that he is a changed man this New Year, at least to his on-again girlfriend, Karrueche Tran. The R&B singer reportedly canceled a New Year's Eve concert in the Philippines to usher 2015 with his lady-love, according to Hollywood Life.

Entertainment Wise reported that the "Loyal" singer was scheduled to attend a New Year's countdown concert at the Philippine Arena on Dec. 31 but was unable to do so. Brown informed his fans in the Philippines of his absence through social network, Twitter, a few hours before he was set to take the stage.

He posted on Twitter, "#TeamBreezyManila! Due to unfortunate circumstances I can't bring in the new year with you..." followed immediately with another post that said, "Too bad since the Philippine Arena is one of the best arenas in the world! Stay tuned Team Breezy!!!!"

While no further elaboration was made as to what "unfortunate circumstances" befell the singer, organizers of the concert in the Philippines said it was because Brown was still in Los Angeles a few hours before the concert and would be unable to travel, noted ABC News.

In a statement released by Maligaya Development Corp to the concert-goers, "According to them, Chris Brown lost his passport the day before the scheduled event. Hence despite having entered into a contract with us, Chris Brown would not be able to comply with his obligation to perform."

However, the "lost passport" was not the real reason Brown didn't go, revealed a source to Hollywood Life. It said that Brown was not willing to leave because he just got back with girlfriend Karrueche Tran over the holidays. "No disrespect to his fans out there, but once he and Karreuche got back together over Christmas, Chris knew he wasn't going to be able to make that venue," divulged the insider.

Tran, on the other hand, was said to have told Brown to attend his commitment but the singer refused. "Some things mean more to me than money and my career and that's you. I want to bring in my New Year with you and that's what the f-k I'm going to do," he reportedly told his girlfriend.

While Brown may have won the heart of his girlfriend back, he has earned the ire of many fans. As soon as news of his cancelation spread, Twitter was filled with mixed reactions from fans, noted Entertainment Wise.

Some were still hoping he'd make true of his promise to return another time, while others believe he was not telling the truth. Aside from Filipinos, many foreign fans were also disappointed and demanded a refund with his absence as some traveled far just to see him perform, reported Kicker Daily News.
