Green Bay Packer's Aaron Rodgers Calf Injury Career-Threatening?

Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers crumpled down in pain as he injured his left calf in a match against the Detroit Lions. It was as if the fans were watching a heroic spectacle as the celebrated quarterback carried on to throwing touchdown passes even after the injury happened.

It was a night full of tale-like episodes. While limping off onto the grounds, Rodgers managed to smile and "threw two touchdown passes to Randall Cobb, Eddie Lacy gashed Detroit's defense for 100 yards, and the Packers celebrated another division championship with a 30-20 victory Sunday", ESPN reports.

Meanwhile, speculations are spreading that Rodgers' injury may have been deliberately induced rather than an accident. Detroit Lions' Ndamukong Suh "appeared to step twice on the already gimpy leg of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers - the first one looked accidental, but the second one, moments after the first, looked like Suh knew what he was doing", Yahoo Sports reveals.

Detroit Lions has been famed for being a dirty team and things like these are expected to happen at any level of any competition they are in. However, it is hard to prove an act that is considered casual in such a physical sport.

Nevertheless, the Packers head coach got agitated after hearing about the news. He admitted that he had no sight of what happened in that "intentional" stepping but with the information spread by the team supporters that Suh deliberately stepped on Rodgers calf, the enraged coach lamented his fury: "I didn't see it live, I didn't see it on the Jumbotron, but far from what I'm told, I'm told it was ridiculous... There's no place for that, so that's where I'm at with it. I don't understand it, frankly," Yahoo Sports reported.

But despite what happened, whether it was a result of a dirty trick or was a mere accident, Rodgers wants to celebrate that moment when despite the injury he suffered, his team won the Championship. "When I look back in this game years from now, I'll probably feel a lot of pride for getting back in there. I love the competition. I love being out there with my guys counting on to be myself", Rogers said according to Packers.

And when asked if he thinks he would recover two weeks from now, Rodgers responded: "Yeah, I do. I think that'll be enough time. This was only seven days. The injury is to a different spot", Packers reports.

While it may have appeared quite serious and debilitating, the left calf injury that Rodgers suffered in this epic match is far from "career-threatening." So fans can take a sound sleep now.
