Celebrity Homes: French Tennis Star Gaël Monfils Buys Miami Penthouse

French tennis star Gaël Monfils, who is known for displaying his dancing skills on the tennis court, has bought a Miami penthouse for an undisclosed amount. According to Variety, the international sports star bought a three-bedroom, three-bathroom penthouse unit at the Paraiso complex in Miami's East Edgewater area. The sale price of the condo was not revealed, but it was reported that similarly sized penthouses at the building are listed for $2.5 to $4 million.

It was reported that the unit has a total area of about 2,000 square feet and is designed with a modern and open plan living spaces. It also has 10-foot ceilings and floor-to-ceiling glass windows and doors which open to the 600-square-foot wrap around terrace that provides panoramic views of the city's skyline and the Biscayne Bay.

It was said that aside from the tennis club and the five lighted tennis courts in the building, the residents also have access to the impressive recreational and leisure amenities. These include the 100-foot diameter zero entry swimming pool, fitness center and spa, golf simulator, wine cellar, bowling alley, screening room and spots for outdoor yoga. The residents can also enjoy the use of Jet Skis, kayaks, paddleboards, speedboats and other watercraft.

According to the report, Monfils will be co-tenants with another Frenchman as the top-earning DJ and music producer David Guetta also has a unit in the building. Other star buyers also include New York Yankee's Alex Rodriguez, San Antonio Spurs player, Manu Ginóbili, and retired Spanish four-time Grand Slam champion tennis player Arantxa Sánchez Vicario.

In 2014, Time reported that Monfils is the most interesting guy in tennis. In an interview, Monfils said that he considers tennis as a sport and not a job. He is also among the top pros that play without a coach and his fellow players have criticized his game because of it.
