The recent death of David Gest, the ex-husband of Liza Minnelli and a former Celebrity Big Brother contestant, came as a shock to everyone. According to reports, the celebrity spent his final days alone at a luxury hotel in Canary Wharf, where he was also found dead.

According to Mirror, Gest was "strung out on sleeping pills" weeks before his death. It was said that the celebrity has been suffering medical problems, including pneumonia.

The former Celebrity Big Brother contestant was found dead at the five-star Four Seasons Hotel at Canary Wharf in London. He was reportedly living for six months at the penthouse suite of the hotel, which costs £1,240 a night. At the same time, he was also paying for his homes in York and Hawaii.

According to the official site of Four Seasons Hotel Canary Wharf, the penthouse suite has one king bed and is located on the sixth floor of the property. It offers relaxing views of the River Thames and features one full limestone bathroom and a guest powder room. The bathroom features a separate tub, a walk-in shower and a private WC with bidet.

Reports say that the staff of the luxury hotel had not seen Gest in two days before he was found dead on the floor of his suite. The celebrity was said to have been taking steroids and visiting casinos before he died. Gest was also spotted on a London tube before his death, which is said to be his last sighting. He was photographed looking "frail and tired," according to Daily Mail.

Besides pneumonia, Gest was also reportedly suffering from high blood pressure and insomnia. The real cause of his death is still unknown.
