The smartphone industry is all abuzz as the specs of two of Sony's rumored upcoming flagship devices has been leaked online, the Sony Xperia Z4 Ultra and the Sony Xperia Z4 Compact, International Business Times reported.
The rumor mill claimed that Sony is reportedly trying to one up its rivals Samsung and Apple by packing its devices with the latest and most high-end features.
Now, more rumors are circulating claiming that Sony is looking to smash the competition with the rumored Sony Xperia Z4 Ultra and the Sony Xperia Z4 Compact, as the specs of the devices have spread online on sites such as Android Origin, PC Authority and Tech Radar and more.
The Sony Xperia Z4 Ultra is the bigger device, with the phablet showing off a 6.4-inch screen similar to its predecessor the Z3 Ultra. However, the screen is boasting a Quad-HD screen resolution thanks to the Snapdragon 810 chip with 3GB RAM memory.
The phablet's rear camera comes at 16 megapixels with a smaller sensor and battery capacity that is somewhere between 3,500 mAh to 4,000 mAh. It will also reportedly have a stylus, which is different from the original Xperia Z Ultra that has no stylus but supports pencil input. Now, Sony can reportedly compete with the Samsung Galaxy Note series.
In comparison, the Sony Xperia Z4 Compact is considered the more downgraded version and will likely come at a more affordable price tag. The smartphone reportedly has a dust- and water-resistant 4.7 inch screen with a 1080p resolution, which is bigger than the Z3 Compact. It also comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with 3GB RAM of memory.
The internal memory comes at 32 GB, a rear camera of 20.7 megapixels, a front camera of 5 megapixels and a 1080p video recording. The phone is also expected to have a 3,000 mAh battery capacity and comes with wireless charging.
However, while hype is at an all time high because of the leaked specs, Sony fans and gadget enthusiasts should remember that these are all rumors and have yet to be confirmed by Sony.
Another rumors to note is that the Sony Xperia Z4 Ultra and Z4 Compact will not be launched alongside the Z4 and Z4 tablet launch, which will be revealed at the Consumer Electronics Show come January 2015, according to PC Authority.
Reports say that the delay was due to a Snapdragon 810 chipset shortage and instead, both will be released on a later date and most likely around the second quarter of 2015 predicts Android Origin.
