Want to Get a Higher House Value? Renovate this Part According to HGTV ‘Income Property’ Host Scott McGillivray

Every seller hopes to sell his or her property at the maximum price. However, there are times when your house value can be lower than what you are expecting. In this case, HGTV's "Income Property" host Scott McGillivray advises on renovating this part of your home before listing it in the market to get higher offers.

HGTV's "Income Property" host Scott McGillivray recently shared his thoughts on the number one home renovation project that sellers must take part in before listing their house in the market. According to House Beautiful, McGillivray suggests on making the right renovations to sell the house at the maximum price.

"Statistically, the majority of people will renovate their homes in preparation for selling it, which is a great idea because if you do the right investments, you're going to make the most return on your investments," said McGillivray.

McGillivray then shared that sellers must focus on renovating the kitchen because this is one of the busiest parts of the home. Buyers are always on the lookout for houses with kitchens in good condition.

As it turns out, you do not need to hire a contractor to give your kitchen a fresh new look. Instead, McGillivray suggests on doing small projects that can be done on your own.

"Look at the faucet, the countertop - all of these things can be done without hiring a contractor to tear your whole place apart," he said.

You may also consider updating your kitchen with new appliances because nothing appeals to buyers than updated kitchen appliances to cook with. As previously reported on Realty Today, many buyers are also on the lookout for homes with more charging stations for devices in the kitchen.

Adding more charging stations in the kitchen is one of the ways you can improve your chances at getting higher offers from buyers. Aside from this, you may also update the look and feel of the kitchen by changing the colors into something neutral or modern.
