Celebrity Homes: Miami Dolphins Quarterback Ryan Tannehill Bought Fort Lauderdale Waterfront Estate for $4.3M

One year after he signed a contract extension with his team, Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill bought a new property in Fort Lauderdale for $4.3 million. According to Miami Curbed, the contemporary in Colee Hammock was originally listed for $4.95 million and was last sold in 1999 for $1.4 million.

Gossip Extra reported that Tannehill tried to make the big purchase quietly by paying through a Santa Monica California trust fund. However, he was revealed to be the buyer when the name of the fund's trustee was discovered to be John Ufer, who is father-in-law. It was revealed that they bought the property just hours after it came on the market last February. They were able to buy the place $200,000 less than the original asking price. It was reported that they even snagged most of the furniture along with the home.

Listing agent Sheryl Hodor of Coldwell Banker Previews International talked to the media outlet and although she did not confirm the identity of the buyer, she said that the new owner immediately fell in love with the place that is why they decided to buy it.

The property at 420 SE 17th Avenue has a total area of 5,400 square feet, and the one-story home was designed by a student of the famed Frank Lloyd in 1981. It has a total of four bedrooms and four full bathrooms. It also has a separate guest house which has one bedroom and an exercise gym. The property is also a short walking distance from the oversized 100-foot canal with a dock.

This is the second property the family bought in the area. It was reported that in June 2014, the couple also bought two adjacent properties just north of their new home. It was said that the 1342 Ponce de Leon Drive was bought for $750,000 and the 915 Cordova Road property for $1 million. They originally planned to build their dream mansion. Currently, they live in a two bedroom townhouse at the Portside Yacht Club which they bought in 2012 for $785,000.
