Pacquiao vs Mayweather Fight 2015: Manny Insults Floyd? Says He's Boring? [Rumors]

As the fight between them looms closer, Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. are not letting up on the taunting and this time Pacquiao issued a challenge of his own during an interview on Monday claiming Mayweather "has nowhere to run but to fight me," CBS Sports reported.

A bout between Pacquiao and Mayweather has been a long time coming and for years the pair were not at all hesitant to fling verbal jabs at one another. It came to the point that Mayweather himself called Pacquiao out during an interview on the Showtime network, setting the fight for May 2 next year and saying he was ready to fight and confident to win, according to CBS News.

Pacquiao responded with a challenge of his own, saying the undefeated boxer had "reached a dead end" with no choice but to fight Pacquiao, according to Sky Sports.

The Filipino boxer, who has eight titles to his name, promised to put on a "thrilling" and an "entertaining" match, but said he doubted Mayweather will be up for a "slugfest." Based on his previous matches and his fighting style, Pacquiao claimed Mayweather was boring enough "to induce sleep" and said he'll chase him around the ring if he had to.

Pacquiao also shrugged off Mayweather's criticisms over Pacquiao not being as big of a moneymaker as he was, especially as the bout was said to become the most expensive pay-per-view boxing match in history. He said the other boxer had yet to respond to Pacquiao's request for a charity fight and in his opinion, Mayweather can go ahead and get whatever amount he wanted.

"This fight is about legacy," Pacquiao said. "This is about making fans happy and, above all, this is for the good of boxing."

Pacquiao's claims of a boring match and a dead end for Mayweather are not unfounded though, according to Bleacher Report.

Pacquiao recently beat out another previously undefeated American boxer, Chris Algieri, during a match held in Macau last month, where he retained his WBO welterweight title with 6 knockdowns but no KO. Dan Rafael from ESPN stated that compared to Pacquiao Mayweather has not had 6 knockdowns in the past ten years.

Mayweather also has only two more fights in his contract with Showtime before his retirement, so if he had any intentions to fight Pacquiao, it needs to be sooner rather than later.

For now, details remain vague as the matchup is still awaiting an official announcement, and it remains to be seen how the money issue pans out.
