Home Selling: Which Retail Company Helps Boost House Value?

The location is one of the things that help determine the house value when the time comes for you to sell your home. While others believe that being located near a good school is one of the best places to boost the house value, recent reports suggest that being located next to a retail company may also help boost the selling price of your home.

As previously reported here on Realty Today, location can greatly affect the selling price of your home in the real estate market. If your house is wonderfully situated in a place that provides convenience and accessibility to your potential buyers, then chances are, you will get a good offer for your home.

However, it has also been discussed that the location may be deterrent to your house value. Say for example, if your house is located near a good school, but you cannot get to your home in a jiffy because of the traffic caused by parents and guardians dropping off their kids, then you may not get the maximum selling price for your house.

Realtor.com also reported on the comparison of home values of those located near retail companies such as Wal-Mart or Target.

According to the publication, it has been found that those who lived near Target saw an appreciation of 27 percent or an average of $65,569 in their house value. Those who lived near Wal-Mart, however, only saw a 16 percent gain or an average of $24,900.

This, however, does not entirely mean that you should go and be on the lookout for houses near Target immediately. The publication stated that there are different factors that affect the price appreciation of these homes.

"This is not necessarily showing that Targets are the reason that these homes are gaining value," said RealtyTrac spokesman Daren Blomquist.

Blomquist noted that Target is often situated in neighborhoods with higher priced homes as compared to Wal-Mart, which targets the rural parts of the country.
