Fashion Mogul Tommy Hilfiger to Open First Hotel in Florida

Fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger recently became the rightful owner of Raleigh Hotel in Miami, Florida.

According to Elle Décor, Hilfiger purchased the hotel back in 2014 for $70 million. However, he's now contemplating on turning it into a smaller luxury hotel.

The designer previously clarified that the hotel will not have anything to do with his famous fashion brand Tommy Hilfiger. Rather, it's a personal venture that he's always wanted to try out.

Meanwhile, the boutique hotel is expected to feature 88 large rooms, a spa, health club and a restaurant. As of late, the prices for the yearly membership have not yet been confirmed, but there are rumors that it will be roughly around the cost of its neighbor hotel Soho Beach House which is at $2000 per year. Members will be given priority at the hotel, but non-members may also be allowed access to the rooms and other facilities.

In other news, the renovation of Raleigh Hotel is expected to begin at the end of the year. It is estimated that the project will be completed within the next 18 months.

As early as now, room reservations are already being accepted, and each night will cost $435. Once the hotel has been completed, guests can expect a surcharge on the nightly rates. This is the very reason why advance booking is being encouraged as early as now.

While speaking with Harper's Bazaar, Hilfiger said that he's looking forward to opening more hotels in different parts of the world in the coming years.

"If you look at LA, Aspen, New York, London, these are also great cities for us, and if we and when we get the right locations, we will expand into these cities," he said.
