One Direction 5th New Album Confirmed; Christmas Record in the Works?

Hot on the heels of the release of their fourth album "Four," One Direction is already looking ahead to a fifth studio album, which they confirmed during an interview at the BBC Music Awards on Thursday evening, Hollywood Life reported.

There have been rumors circulating that "Four" will end up being the British boyband's final album, but during the London event, the members announced otherwise, according to NME News.

One Direction member Liam Payne was vague when they were asked about a fifth LP, simply saying that they were happy that "Four" was doing well and has given the band a new direction in terms of music.

"If we happen to do another one..." Payne concluded, drifting off.

Fellow member Niall Horan decided to call it out in the end, saying, "Yes, there will be."

After NME broke the news, an Instagram video taken at the event has even been uploaded online, wherein fans can hear with their own ears about the fifth album.

But before the next album launch comes, fans can look forward to the Christmas track released last month wherein One Direction joined a lineup of fellow artists and musicians in a rendition of BandAid's "Do They Know It's Christmas?," according to PRI.

"Do They Know It's Christmas?" is the fastest-selling single of all time in the United Kingdom and has inspired many charity events and musical recordings. The song, which was rewritten to honor the victims of Ebola, features the voices of One Direction, Bono, Rita Ora, Sinead O'Connor, Seal, Paloma Faith and many more.

There has been no confirmation on whether or not the band will release their own Christmas record though, but Directioners can still hear the boys sing a holiday track by checking out "Do They Know It's Christmas?"

As of now though, the members of One Direction are still busy promoting "Four" and are also ready to start their 2015 album tour, according to Unreality TV.

Member Louis Tomlinson talked about the series of concerts, saying, "We're going on tour and we're very excited about that. We're touring with new songs. We're excited to get on the road."

At the BBC Music Awards in London, One Direction performed "Steal My Girl" off their latest album. The members, Horan, Payne, Tomlinson, Harry Styles and Zayn Malik were also presented a special award by Chris Evans and Fearne Cotton for being the first band in history to consecutively debut all their albums at number one on the US Billboard charts.
