Top 25 Office Tenants in Manhattan Unveiled

There are top 25 office tenants in Manhattan as of this month, reports say.

These offices occupy over 56 million square feet of space in the area. As per CoStar Group data via The Real Deal, JPMorgan Chase consume more of its space than any other companies as it occupies 4.67 million square feet. JPMorgan Chase's area is bigger than the Citigroup, a financial company, which occupies 4.49 million square feet. On the other hand, New York office spaces still hold the biggest office space area as it takes up 7.22 million square feet last year as per reports.

The top 10 office tenants in Manhattan are city of New York which is covering various agencies, followed by JPMorgan, Citigroup, Morgan Stanley, NY State, Bank of America, United Nations, Viacom, Barclays and Goldman Sachs.

As can be observed, those comprising the top 10 are six banks, a media company, Viacom, and three government institutions. Report shows that the tenants 11 to 25 are media companies like NBC and Bloomberg and financial offices like Ernst & Young and Credit Suisse.

On the other hand, there's one office tenant that doesn't fall on those category fields, the WeWork, a co-working office space provider. As per data, WeWork is the 16th largest office space lessee in Manhattan. It's office occupies 1.44 million square feet. Reportedly, it will soon take up additional square feet of space and this doesn't include their office spaces in the outer boroughs.

In an earlier report this January, WeWork reportedly took up 75,000 square feet in Soho's 524 Broadway, specifically occupying the seventh through 11th floors of the building with publisher Scholastic as the current occupant. According to CoStar, the price rents in the building are $70 per square foot.
