Midcentury Modern House in California Renovated by Creative Couple Kristina & Bill

Here's a look at a beautiful midcentury modern house in San Diego, California.

According to Curbed, the property was previously not well taken care of until it found its rightful owner and received the renovation that it truly deserved. In the article posted by Apartment Therapy, it was revealed that the couple purchased the property and then restored it room by room. The house was built in 1961 by then architect Richard Lureau.

The realtor of the house also told the publication that a lot of furniture found in the house was custom-made. It was also revealed that the property was featured in the 1961 edition of a certain magazine at that time.

"Creative duo Kristina and Bill breathed a new life into their San Diego area Mid-century modern home while also lovingly preserving its gorgeous original character. Both Wisconsin natives, the couple met while working together in advertising in Milwaukee. Since moving to San Diego ten years ago, Bill has found the creative agency Carousel with two business partners, while Kristina works as a copywriter for Sharp HealtCare. In their spare time, the couple is slowly restoring their house to its original glory room-by-room, taking their time to do the job right and loving every minute of the process," the publication noted.

In other news, Kristina and Bill explained why they decided to purchase the property and then have it renovated while speaking with the publication.

According to the former, "While we loved that little bungalow, we eventually started looking for a house with more space. We found our current house and knew that it was our forever house when we saw that one of the electrical boxes had a letterpress switch," she said.

Upon touring the house, the couple found out that the previous owners were also a creative individuals, so they immediately felt connected with them.
