Markus Persson Net Worth: Minecraft Creator Gives Away MJ Memorabilia from His $70M Pad

After selling Minecraft to Microsoft in 2014, game creator Markus Persson is now giving away priceless Michael Jackson memorabilia from his $70 million Beverly Hills mansion.

According to TMZ, aside from the MJ memorabilia, the billionaire is also auctioning some Bentley furniture and Shepard Fairey prints. It was reported that all the proceeds from the auction will go to Design by Donation which supports at-risk youth.

It was reported that the property where the items can be found was the same property that Persson bought in 2014 after outbidding the power couple Jay Z and Beyonce. The Swedish video game billionaire bought the 23,000-square-foot mansion for $70 million back in 2014. The place features a 54-foot curved glass door which leads to the infinity pool from the living room. The pool also comes with iPad-controlled features and offers beautiful panoramic views of the area.

Other features of the place include a candy room, an 18-seater screening room and an 18-foot dining table. The mansion has a total of eight bedrooms and 15 bathrooms, and it also has a black tile and mirrored garage which has a lift to move the cars down to the lower level.

Persson founded the video game company Mojang in the late 2010, and one of his principal ventures was the creation of the game "Minecraft." According to Forbes, Persson has an estimated net worth of $1.33 billion. Since the release of his video game, he has gained credibility within the industry and also won multiple awards. He remained in his position as the lead designer of the game until it was officially launched in 2011.

Persson wanted a clean break from his company, and Microsoft purchased it for $2.5 billion in September 2014. As of writing, the title is one of the most downloaded computer games of all time and has already sold more than 100 million copies across various platforms.
