Top 5 Cheapest and Most Expensive Countries to Live in Asia

Tired of the freezing weather in your continent? You might want to get some heat and less cold around Asia. The perks of living in Asia come in two ways -- living in a cheaper lifestyle or in an expensive one. But, even if some Asian countries are expensive, at least they are not as costly as America, Europe or Australia.

Here are the top five cheapest and most expensive countries to live in Asia:

India

According to 2015 Wealth Report Asia, the 9 percent drop in price for the prime properties in Mumbai since 2014 has contributed to India's cost-effective lifestyle. The Swiss private bank, Julius Baer, checked that the cost of expensive items such as Louboutin pumps, grand piano and Botox are relatively cheaper than that of other Asian countries.

Malaysia

Internations reports that expats consider Malaysia as a very affordable place to live in. You will only pay 50 MYR for a meal for two in a restaurant and 176 MYR for an average apartment. Your apartment cost depends on the city you live in. If you choose to live in the city, expect to pay higher.

But, you can actually have a Malaysian lifestyle on a budget should you want to.

Philippines

The Philippine lifestyle doesn't cost you much. With $1, you can already eat at a fast food restaurant one meal with a drink. Transportation is not much of a problem in this country as there are a lot of taxi cabs, buses and jeepneys available for commuting in case you don't have your own car.

Hong Kong

India Real Time reports Hong Kong to be one of the most expensive countries in Asia following Shanghai, China. When you are in HK, you can enjoy the ostentatious luxury of the city's natural splendor and alluring culture, according to Expat Arrivals. With this luxurious city, wealthy foreigners and expats with great pay slips will surely enjoy a lucrative life in HK.

Singapore

Singapore is listed to be another most expensive country in Asia following HK. One foreigner says Sing is a mini-USA and the country's highly urbanized cities prove so. Living in Singapore reports that SG is the 13th most expensive city in the world. SG is ranked fifth most expensive country in Asia following Seoul, Hong Kong, Osaka and Tokyo.
