Home Designing Ideas Inspired by Home Show Centerpiece

Learn how to make any house shine at this year's Indianapolis Home Show. This show was built by Fischer Homes, together with Joy Perkins for the interior design, and Macara Carsley who is the owner of Touch of Class interiors.

The Home Show features an open great room and a kitchen with an adjoined gathering area. The kitchen has an over-scale island which is painted with gray-taupe. It is topped with a large slab of taupe quartz. Behind the kitchen island is a wall of cabinets painted with a similar palette.

Perkins remarked that today's trends are gearing towards mixing different painted finishes, and that quartz is more preferred than that of granite, as quartz is a man-made product which comes in so many colors. It is also very flexible to use among different designs. It can be manipulated easily as compared to the granite.

Apart from the combination of the black taupe cabinets and the all-white kitchen motif, another crucial part of the Home Show is the lighting. Carsley shares that every room gets to have a memorable personality thanks to lighting. Like in the case of the Home Show which features a large crystal chandelier lined by a large metal sphere in the foyer. Carsley further notes that lighting can be treated like an accessory that makes a bold statement. Perkins also shared that lighting can create a certain ambience in a room, so it is a must to have these installed.

Aside from the gorgeous over-scale kitchen island, a double-wide stainless refrigerator can also be found in the kitchen. In the gathering area, an oversized coffee table also adds to the collection of large effects inside the house.

A digital photographic mural is used to decorate the boy's and the girl's bedrooms. They suggested that homeowners can use other digital prints or personalized prints for their upholstery or walls.
