Fortunately, there are plenty of ways to give the bathroom a whole new look without the need to spend so much, and Niloufar Bakhtiar-Bakhtiari of NBB Designs has shared to us some tips on how to achieve that new look for your bathroom.
Personalize the room.
He often tells his clients that they should grab their favorite accessories and have it displayed in one part of the room's wall. They can either hang it there with their preferred ways so these are more accessible, plus it can be appreciated more as one can see them hanging there everyday.
Throw in some art.
Artworks are most commonly found in bedrooms and in the living area, but this doesn't mean that they can't be placed in a bathroom, too. The right piece of artwork, such as sculptures and paintings, can be more appreciated by people who use it because bathrooms are frequently used by everyone for their day to day sanitary needs. He suggests to pick one artwork for display.
Paint the walls with textures and add in some bold colors as a motif.
Say no to plain walls. He suggests that it's best to go for textured walls as much as possible. He also suggested to add in motifs with bold colors, since they are also great as they add a more intimate feel to the room. Fabrics and paint can be used to integrate bold colors. He further extends that one doesn't need to paint the whole room with something dark, as painting at least one or two components will do the job.
Remember that it's supposed to be comfy.
He suggests that giving the room a calming ambiance should always be a priority. It is supposed to be a place of relaxation and retreat. For larger bathrooms, ottomans or simple chairs can be added to create a fine and elegant look. Adjusting the lights would also be a nice touch. For added pleasure, scented candles or potpourri lamps can also be used.
