Kitchen Color Tips

Adding a splash of color on your kitchen is one way of adding life into one's home. Vibrant paint colors renew the home's energy. Throwing in different palettes do not have to be complicated. Mix and match is a great way to choose a color scheme.

Painting the kitchen doesn't have to be white all the time, painting with bold colors is currently making its way into most kitchens since last year. Listed below are a few tips on how to add a splash of color into your kitchen.

Splash of Blue

Navy blue mixed with a hint of white and brown can look good on kitchen cabinets. As per HGTV, the denim inspired color palette suggests a masculine touch into a home. As per Karen Soojan, an interior designer stated, "Bold contrast is a major design element for the space, as seen in the combination of both white (not shown) and navy cabinets, This is softened by the introduction of the warm color of the cork floor and the walnut-toned center island."

Hint of Mango Orange

Mixing in a touch of yellow and orange looks perfect on a Mexican-inspired kitchen design. It adds a vibrant touch into a kitchen giving the owner a warm, homey feel.

Robin Siegerman, a designer, describes the color orange as, "I think that color in a kitchen has a hugely positive, psychological impact and makes people happy, Orange is shown to stimulate optimism, bringing spontaneity and a positive outlook to life. It's a great color to use during tough economic times, keeping us motivated and helping us to look on the bright side of life."

Purple to Plum

Purple looks perfect on a Persian-inspired kitchen as it signifies the color of royalty. Different purple hues work well once incorporated and blended perfectly.
