Boston Victorian-Inspired Home Renovated, Asks for $5K In Rent Per Month

A south Victorian-inspired home at 43 Old Harbor street asked for $700,000 back in September. Its new owner decided to purchase the 2,400-square-foot abode and then had the entire house with its three bedrooms and two toilet and baths renovated. Now the new owner is putting the house for rent at $5,000 per month.

According to Curbed, the property looks very different now compared to how it once looked before the renovation.

Meanwhile, the publication also revealed that the new owner who spent money on the renovation is also open to talks and negotiations about possibly selling the property.

According to Chad Gaughan, vice president of Goodrich Residential, the new sales tag will be much more than the original $700,000 property price plus the $220,000 renovation cost. Chances are, there will still be more add-ons to the price, and the publication vowed to update prospective buyers in the upcoming weeks.

The publication also shared a before-and-after photo of the renovation which was given to them by the house owner. As it turns out, so much has really changed in the property over time.

Now the property looks more white and modern, while before it looked classic. At the end of the day, it's all just a matter of preference for whoever wishes to purchase or rent it out.

In other news, some people have shared their comments about the property on Curbed's website.

"I would say that's about $90 a square foot of renovation cost gets you... Looks nice though, that's a lot of value for 380 an SF of finished value! I would have spent some more and lost the carpet on the stairs and bedroom though."

Another person wrote, "Aside from the carpet on the stairs, it looks great."
