'The Bride,’ the Tallest Building in the World, is Set to be Built in Iraq

The proposed building called "The Bride" is reported to have a measure of 1,152 meters tall, and is being planned for the future of Iraq. According to its designer, AMBS, it is going to be made up of a couple of two conjoined towers, with Tower 1 being the tallest that will stand at 964 meters high and will have a 188-meter high antenna.

According to AMBS Director, Marcos De Andres, the purpose of the construction is to create a more sustainable and advanced vertical city, and the most reasonable way of doing this is through the joined towers that will be horizontally connected. "It is a solid structure," he added.

Second to stability is the safety. The AMBS will design plenty of alternative escape routes and access through vertical and horizontal circulation. This project, if pushed through, will bring good news for the country that has had conflicts for the past 13 years.

The leadership of Iraq is presently struggling to regain the full control of a territory that was lost to Daesh or ISL, who have occupied large areas of the country, which includes the major city of Mosul. Should the project become "net zero," it is going to produce the same amount of energy that it will consume. This is based on the calculations, which show that it is highly probable, or at the very least, will be quite close.

Moreover, De Andres also noted that the purpose of this building is to be 100% solar powered. Using shade will be another significant feature of the design. Tower 1, the tallest tower, is going to give shelter for the three towers below it from the sun's energy. Through a canopy, shade will be provided to cover the south front of Tower 1, along with integrated photovoltaic thermal panels or the PVTs. The PVTs are said to produce heat and electricity, another additional feature of the proposed building, CNBC reported.
