Real Estate News: The Real Deal Opens New Newsroom in LA

The leading source of real estate news and trends, The Real Deal, announced the opening of their new newsroom in Los Angeles this week.

Said expansion in LA aims to support the huge demands for TRD's minute-to-minute real estate industry reports across national and international scope.

Hannah Miet of The Los Angeles Business Journal, who joined TRD as a journalist at its peak of growth, will take charge with the overall news coverage as the managing editor of TRD Los Angeles. WDRB News reports Miet's view on the TRD launch in LA, implying the editor's positive support on the new initiative.

"What's happening in the Los Angeles real estate market right now is fascinating and unprecedented. For the first time, Downtown is really shaping its skyline, and its personality. It's a very high stakes game and The Real Deal will be an invaluable resource as things continue to evolve throughout the many submarkets in Los Angeles County," Miet admits.

Dubbed as "the Bible" of NY real estate journalism, TRD's monthly magazine sells 128,000 copies while its website TheRealDeal.com currently generates 2.5 million visits a month. Its yearly website visits average in New York alone reaches up to 40 percent and 100 percent in South Florida. TRD website is even accessible through mobile app on iPad, iPhone and Android.

Amir Korangy, TRD owner and publisher, considers the launch as upholding of the brand while recognizing its noble readership.

"The opening of a Los Angeles newsroom is a natural outgrowth of the dedicated readership and brand recognition we have built with The Real Deal in other leading markets. Los Angeles is a market that's long been under-covered and as more foreign and national investment floods L.A., we are thrilled to bring The Real Deal's signature mix of breaking news and in-depth analysis to the area," said Korangy.

To have received several awards since 2003 -- "General Excellence Award" by the Society of American Business Editors and Writers 2013, "Best Commercial Trade Magazine," "Best Web Site Solely Devoted to Residential, Commercial or Financial Real Estate and/or Home Design" and "Best Residential Trade Magazine" -- The Real Deal has proven its newsworthiness and journalism prowess nationally and internationally.
