HGTV's 'Fixer Upper' Couple Chip and Joanna Gaines Release a Book

Chip and Joanna Gaines, the husband and wife tandem behind HGTV's hit show, "Fixer Upper," is adding another project on their plate. The couple, famous for turning old homes into cozy design havens, have announced the release of their first book entitled "The Magnolia Story."

Written in collaboration with New York Times bestselling author Mark Magostino, "The Magnolia Story" will detail how Chip and Joanna started out in the renovation business, and how they found success in doing what they love.

"We're so excited to announce that our FIRST book, The Magnolia Story, will be coming out on October 18, 2016! @chippergaines and I had so much fun writing this book together & getting to share some of our favorite stories about our life together. From getting married and starting our family - to taking some of the biggest risks of our lives that almost cost everything. We can't wait to share it with you!" Joanna announced on her Instagram account on Wednesday, Jan. 20.

Fans of "Fixer Upper" tune in to the show because of the duo's funny banters and amazing home projects. As previously reported, Chip and Joanna's repurposed rustic design aesthetics have become so endearing that they have also opened a furniture line called "Magnolia Home" last October 2015.

"Without even trying to do so, Chip and Joanna Gaines have become extremely popular based on the proven formula of authenticity, humility, and personality," publisher Matt Baugher said in the book's press release. "Their story is as inspiring as it is entertaining and we are honored to publish their first two books."

While "The Magnolia Story" will not be released until Oct. 18, Joanna is already planning for her next book, which is said to be a design how-to. Chip and Joanna are currently airing season 3 of "Fixer Upper," shown on HGTV every Tuesday, 9 p.m.
