Paramount Pictures CEO Brad Grey Cut Price of Listed Apartment in Carlyle Hotel

Paramount Pictures CEO Brad Grey has listed his apartment in Carlyle Hotel. However, the film mogul has cut its original asking price.

The Real Deal reports that the original asking price of the penthouse is around $22.5 million. It has been listed in the market for over a year already. Now, Paramount Pictures CEO Brad Grey "has chopped the price of his co-op penthouse at the famed Carlyle Hotel by nearly $3 million to $19.75 million."

Report also says that Grey together with his spouse Cassandra Huysentruyt Grey had taken the penthouse in Carlyle Hotel off the market in September 2015 when his wife gave birth to their firstborn son Jules Andrew.

The penthouse of Grey in Carlyle Hotel is handled by listing Deborah Grubman of the Corcoran Group. However, she is not available as of the moment to give comment regarding Brad Grey's decision in cutting the asking price.

It is noted that the film mogul will still make a hefty profit on this deal despite the chopped asking price. Based on record, he acquired the penthouse in Carlyle Hotel for $15.5 million from Peter Schoenfeld in 2011.

The real estate property is said to be a four-bedroom apartment. It has "wood-paneled walls, large layouts and views of Central Park." But then, it reveals that the pad "has monthly maintenance costs of $46,687."

The Carlyle Hotel is known as a luxury and sophisticated hotel in Madison Avenue. Accordingly, "the hotel has long been a mainstay for royalty and A-listers such as George and Amal Clooney, Rihanna and Madonna."

This is not the first time that the L.A-based film mogul and producer Grey has sold a property. Last year, he had sold his 10,616-square-foot home in Bel-Air to hospitality mogul Sam Nazarian. According to Variety, the real estate property then was pegged at $25 million.

Interestingly, the 10,616-square-foot home in Bel-Air is now on real estate listing. CanmuaNet reports that "Nazarian, who founded the nightclub and restaurant empire SBE Entertainment, simultaneously listed the property in the 300 block of Copa de Oro Road for sale at $33.5 million."
