Rafael Nadal Net Worth: Take a Tour of the Tennis Athlete’s Dominican Republic Home & Tennis Academy

Rafael Nadal has suffered major losses in the tennis season last year, but he somehow managed to get back his groove in the latter part of the year. Recently, however, he was stunned by Fernando Verdasco in the first round of Australian Open 2016, which is the first time for the Majorcan native. Though that's the case, Nadal has achieved several milestones in the span of his tennis career, and along with them, he also managed to acquire several properties, including his home in Dominican Republic. The athlete's tennis academy is also currently under construction. Let's take a look.

One of Nadal's homes is located in Dominican Republic, which, according to reports, he bought back in 2009 for $2 million. Success Story has posted photos of the property, and a video showing photos of Nadal in the home was also published by Star News in November 2015.

The photos and video show a villa mostly decked out in white. In front of the property is a swimming pool. The pool area appears to have wooden floors and is surrounded by white sunbeds. The property faces a beautiful beach, offering relaxing views. Inside, luxurious lighting fixtures add a touch of elegance to the athlete's space.

Meanwhile, Sky News reported in September 2015 that besides playing tennis, Nadal's projects include the construction of his own tennis academy. The publication scored an exclusive tour of the property with Nadal himself, and according to the report, the academy is worth £15m and is located up the road from Nadal's house.

The construction of Nadal's tennis academy has stirred speculations that he's planning to retire soon, but the athlete said during the time that retirement is not yet on his mind. However, if he does decide to do so, tennis will still be a big part of his life because of his tennis academy.

Nadal's net worth is $100 million, according to Heavy.
