Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2016 Las Vegas: Smart Appliances Which Can Transform Any Home

At the recent Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, different companies showcased the new smart appliances that are must-haves for this year.

She Knows reports that the no. 1 convenient smart appliance featured in the show is the smart refrigerator by Samsung. The appliance has cameras inside which takes pictures of the food and lets the owners know when they are running low on certain food items. It also has a Wi-Fi feature which can help keep track of schedules and activities. One great feature of the item is it can shop for food by itself; you just need to tap the MasterCard app and order the items the refrigerator suggests.

Real Simple also listed some smart appliances that can transform any home, and the first is the Sleep Number It Bed. This bed has built-in sensors that track sleep, body movements, breathing and heart rate. Aside from that, the firmness can also be adjusted based on its recommendations. The item is available for at least $1,000.

Another smart item on the list is the Schlage Sense Smart Deadbolt, which is great for people who usually forgets the keys to their homes. The lock can be opened by an access code, and it can also be accessed through the free app named HomeKit, which is available on any iOS device. This app allows the item to lock and unlock with Siri.

Meanwhile, for only $60, this Click and Grow item can help any homeowner grow their very own garden without worrying of messing it up. The item has "smart soil" which releases the necessary nutrients and environment for any indoor plant that needs to grow.

Of course, smart appliances are best used for security purposes like the Netatmo, which is a super intelligent camera that has the ability to recognize individual faces. It is best placed at the front door; the system logs each face it detects, noting who it is. If the system spots a stranger, it immediately notifies the homeowner through their smart phones.
