Buyers would always prefer to purchase a home that is in its pristine condition and not a version 2.0. Home sellers may need to tone things down a little in terms of their interiors to create the highest appeal to most home buyers.

Here are some of the things that a buyer may not be able to appreciate this 2016.

Boldly painted walls are big turn offs.

Homebuyers are known to prefer neutral colors for the walls. Most buyers also do not want to do a paint job for their newly purchased abode, Home Guides shared. In the end, they will stay away from those homes that were designed by modern home decorators, because many of them prefer to use bold colors like black, to give accent for the metallic accessories that they wanted to add.

The same is true with striking wallpapers.  

Modern interior consultants are using more and more of these lately. Wallpapers are a personal choice and home buyers will have to take those off before they can move in, which is time consuming. Neutral paint is again, highly suggested to replace the wallpaper, Huffington Post said.

Too much gold and silver.

These colors portray the 80s era, and although they may add a little star quality to the structure, it is still outdated. Brushed nickel finish is more appealing and sleeker for door handles, while faucets are available in different modern colors, aside from the previous generation's gold and silver finishes.

Big light fixtures.

Fixtures are used for enhancement, but many new homeowners are putting up a big one or an ornate one which becomes the center of attraction.

Converted rooms.

Lastly, converted bedrooms and garages are a big turn down to buyers. Many buyers prefer their original function and purpose. A garage is important for storage as well.
