U.K. Housing and Planning Bill Initiated as Rented Accommodations Issues Arise

Amidst the looming global economic slowdown and the potential downfall of housing market in UK, there is another issue looming in the background of UK's real estate industry. The importance of a decent living environment is essential for attaining a more humane quality of living. However, such idea is being thwarted by less concerned landlords. That is why a call for a change or amendment in UK's housing and planning bill has been initiated.

In recent reports, the UK's member of conservative party has rejected a particular amendment to the government's housing and planning bill. The said amendment aims for ensuring that rented accommodations will be safer for people to live in.  The said design for improvement was outvoted 312 votes to 219 last Tuesday. Teresa Pearce who proposed the said changes in the bill shared her sentiment via The Guardian;

"The majority of landlords let property which is and remains in a decent standard. Many landlords go out of their way to ensure that even the slightest safety hazard is sorted quickly and efficiently. So it is even more distressing when we see reports of homes which are frankly unfit for human habitation being let, often at obscene prices."

Since living environment is deemed essential, it would be wise to check for better options, especially that changes in housing bill was not approved. In the following article of Property News team, it emphasized the importance of foreseeing future plans before deciding whether to rent or not certain property:
