Cleaning? Resolution? These two are not exactly a match-made in heaven especially for most home owners. But did the slightest idea of changing your cleaning habits for your home enter your mind?

Busy or not? Cleaning an entire house is daunting even if you are single and living on a bachelor's pad. Just imagine vacuuming your living room then scrubbing the tiles of your bathroom, and washing your bedroom's cover. This is almost a total workout that will leave you breathless! A day is not even enough to make the whole house look flawless.

Popsugar shares ideas on how you can adopt small, simple cleaning resolutions that will result to big differences this new year. Trying it out small will not hurt, right?

1. Make Your Bed Every Morning

Simple but many abandon this task every morning. Try tidying up your bed every time you wake up. No one can argue that a neat-looking and well-pressed bed is the best way to lie into after a long day's work.

2. Check the Refrigerator before Taking off the Trash

Do a check-up of your refrigerator's stocks, there might be expired or even spoiling foods that need to be thrown out. This tiny measure will save you time and keep your ref spoil-free.

"While you're in there, make note of what looks to be on its last legs, and make a plan to use that food in the next day or two, before it goes to bad," advised Joli Kerr, cleaning columnist and author of My Boyfriend Barfed In My Handbag... And Other Things You Can't Ask Martha.

3. Maximize the Use of Cleaning Products

Those cleaning products actually do much more than expected in the kitchen. The article gave this idea to "Pre-treat all your surfaces with a multi-purpose cleaning spray, then walk away for at least 10 minutes. When you come back to clean, you'll be wiping-not scrubbing."

4. Clean the Bathroom Once A Week

Ouch! Does this idea hurt? But this has great benefits to you and your bathroom, Kerr shared that "Scrubbing the bathroom isn't high on most people's chore list, but trust me, cleaning it regularly makes the job so much less gross-and so much less time-consuming."

5. Wipe Down Bathroom Surfaces Before Going to Bed

Wipe the surfaces of your bathroom before going to bed, this easy tip will leave you loving your bathrooms more in the morning. For you to stick on this daily routine, Maker said to "Keep a container of disposable, biodegradable wipes under your counter, and each night, before you turn out the lights, give the surfaces a quick clean."
