Hamptons Real Estate Listing: 2-acre Compound Owned by Lorry Newhouse Asks for $8.75M

A charming two-acre compound in Southampton Village owned by fashion designer Lorry Newhouse is currently on sale for $8.75 million.

According to Hamptons Curbed, the whole property consists of a four-bedroom main house, a three-bedroom guest cottage and also a pool house. The whole 2.2 acres also features lovely mature gardens, tool sheds and a pool which could be divided into two legal residences.

The property was purchased by fashion designer Lorry Newhouse 10 years ago, and it was also featured in Elle Décor. She bought the property to have a weekend place for her family.

According to Curbed, the cottage was once part of a larger estate built by Stanford White and Charles McKim between 1898 and 1907. The previous owner of the cottage was Ronald Grimaldi, who worked with 20th-century design icon Rose Cumming for 40 years. Newhouse redesigned the place with still a touch of Cumming's style and added some of her own pieces.

Listing details for the property reveal that it is located conveniently in the center of Southampton Village and is filled with mature trees and flowering plants. The main house which has four bedrooms has a spacious entry hall and a wide sitting area. On the left side is the open dining room which has its own fireplace, followed by a butler's pantry. The chef's kitchen is filled with stainless steel appliances, and there is also central air conditioning throughout. The formal living area also has its own fireplace and opens to the sunroom which overlooks the outdoor gardens.

The three-bedroom cottage guest house has a vaulted ceiling living area and also a built-in air-conditioning system. It has a heated saltwater pool and two basements. The compound is only new to the market and offers extraordinarily charming views and amenities.
