This minimalist-Scandinavian originated pattern looks great on pillows and quilt. It was featured in several images and Pinterest but will be lying low this time around.

Black and white spaces will be least preferred for this year as well. This home design inspiration also originated from Scandinavia and is described as white rooms with black accents, or sometimes the other way around. Royal blue and pink will be the color for this year, so plain white walls will definitely be out of the decorating scene. Driftwoods will also be leaving the decorating scene and will be replaced by more natural home items like live plants and flowers.

Meanwhile, Building Construction Design reports that geometric tiles will be a hit this year and will become even bigger than the designs inspired by the style in 2015. This design will be used to create intricately patterned tiles and countertops as well as on floors and the backsplash of living areas. The tiles will not be limited inside bathrooms and kitchens but other areas in the house as well.

Artisan Goods will also make a comeback this year and will offer unique home pieces and accessories that can highlight or add interest in a specific room or area in the house.
