Floating homes are getting much attention in architectural designs. Houseboats appear to offer stylish yet minimalist living.
Curbed states a Rad floating home in a Dutch Canal has caught the attention of the passersby. It is noted that this new houseboat is designed by BYTR Architecten, a Dutch architectural firm. The design "brings the bright, airy appeal of (almost) all-white interiors right onto a canal in Utrecht."
Report also mentions that the discreet structure of the floating house in Dutch Canal has a green roof and deck area. It also holds an "open living and dining area on the top level and sleeping quarters on the bottom."
The interior of this new boathouse has clean and streamlined furnishings. The windows of the floating house are "specifically windows frame specific views of the parkland surroundings."
This new floating house is actually a new addition to several impressive trendy modern boathouses. In fact, Trendir has published a handful of designs for this kind of house in November 2015.
There are actually 12 designs that were published in the websites. One of which is the floating homes in West Coast. It is noted that it is ideal to build a boathouse in West Coast because of its temperate weather. It is indeed relaxing waking up to the sound of the waves and hearing the call of the gulls.
