'New Girl' Season 4 Episodes: Opening Credits Changed; Sequence To Debut Tonight [Watch Here]

After four successful seasons, "New Girl" is changing their quirky opening sequence that featured actress Zooey Deschanel and her three roomies -- Nick (Jake Johnson), Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and Winston (Lamorne Morris).

E! News reports that the clip was altered to incorporate Hannah Simone and Damon Wayans Jr.

"We also changed our main titles to include Damon and Hannah," said creator Liz Meriwether in a tweet regarding the new sequence. "Don't get mad at me. I don't know how to do good main titles. I barely shower."

This isn't the only change happening this season, according to another tweet by Meriwether, there will be 23rd episode for the fourth season.

"New Girl" is rebounding from a less than stellar third season performance. Buzzfeed noted how the series revitalized itself following the "big swing and miss" of Jess and Nick's relationship.

"I think one of the show's strengths is that it's always been able to go to a million different places and do a million different things, but the problem with that is sometimes when we take a big swing and miss, you really feel the pain of that," said Meriwether.

"By moving into the Nick-Jess relationship, we changed the engine of the show to this relationship inside of the group," chipped in co-executive producer Brett Baer. "The trick with last year was you get these two likable, audience favorite characters in a relationship and to make it interesting there has to be conflict, but what kind of conflict can you have without making one of the two parties look like a villain? You have to walk a careful line, but then that's not great for comedy."

This fourth season, the team behind the series went back to the basics.

"We had to focus on Jess trying to find love," Meriwether said. "That's where the initial impetus for the show had been."

Meriwether admitted to being "a little lost in all of the arcs last year. And something that's actually helped all of the relationships is to get away from doing stories about the relationships and do stories about funny things and let the relationships play inside those stories."
