Celebrity Real Estate: Charlie Sheen Sells L.A. Mansion at a Great Loss

Charlie Sheen, who recently revealed his HIV-positive status, told Matt Lauer that he's bled out $10 million to keep mum those who threatened to reveal his illness. The finances of one of the highest-paid actors have been compromised severely because of those blackmails.

It could be the reason why he decided to list on the market two of his three homes in Los Angeles, in the gated Mulholland Estates, in November of last year -- to recover his losses.

According to gossips, one of the two homes has already been sold, though with a loss of $400,000.

The actor earned $6.6 million on the sale of his 9,020-square-foot mansion located at 3332 Clerendon Road. The property built in 1998 was purchased by Charlie for $6.99 million in 2011 from filmmaker Mike Medavoy, as reported by the New York Post news.

Sheen never lived in this mansion of six bedrooms. Instead, he lent it to his ex-wife, Denise Richards, while she built her own mansion in the gated community of L.A.'s Hidden Hills. And as what happened, she put her mansion on the market for $7.74 million in June 2015.

The buyer of Sheen's Mulholland Estates mansion is not available, but is said to be a bigwig who also owns a smaller home located just around the corner.

Sheen also plans to sell another home, a 6,625-square-foot villa that he bought for $4.8 million in 2012.

The 50-year-old former star of "Two and a Half Men" however, wants to keep his third Beverly Hills home, a 7,924-square-foot, six-bedroom mansion that he bought for $7.2 million in 2006.

According to the Daily Mail news, the ex-wife of Charlie, Dennis Richards, and their daughters Sam and Lola, along with Denise's daughter, Eloise, have been living in the second home of Charles while the property of Richards is being renovated.

Charlie had said that he has spent millions of dollars paying off people who know of his HIV-positive status, to keep them from revealing about his diagnosis.
